2002 – 2005 CV, Grand Marquis, 2003 -2004 Mercury Marauder Light Control Module

How to repair the Mercury Grand Marquis Light Control Module.

The light control module on many Mercury and Ford vehicles are soldered rather poorly.  The relays solder joint becomes cracked.  Therefore the headlights and other light units controlled by this module function poorly.  They may work sometimes and just stop at other times.  It is rather easy to repair.  Just need to solder the relay modules as shown.  Please see all pictures.

You will need a 7mm socket to remove the 3 hold down bolts and a T15 for the two on top.

  1. Replaced the drivers side winodw regulator on my 98 Ford Crown Victoria in 1.5 hours with these easy to follow instructions! Used (2) 1/4 20 x 1 round head combo machine screws for the winodw and 1/4 20 x 5/8 round head combo machine screws for the rest. 1/4 20 Nylon Lock Nuts and 1/4 x 1 1/4 Fender Washers secured everything. Lubed up the channels with spray silicone and lubed up the regulator with white lithium grease. Thank you 1AAuto for your help!

    1. Bless you for making this video! Mine is a 95 Crown Vic. I was able to flloow your instructions and the only glitch was the rivet on the window spun free before I could drill it out. The single handled hacksaw resolved that. I found the 1/4 -20 x 1 combo truss head machine screw with 1/4 -20 KEP Lock-Nut Coarse along with a 304 SS Fender Washer 4x1x9 worked great in securing all the components back in. Thanks again for your help!
